SLIDE X DRIFT BROTHERS X BMW M

Yes – such a collaboration became a reality. In 2020, our company joined a project that connected the world of top-tier automotive engineering with the passion and skills of Europe's best drifters. The Red Bull Drift Brothers – one of the most recognizable drifting teams – invited us to help realize a vision that immediately captured the hearts of automotive fans.

Their plan? To build the most advanced, controversial, and unique drift cars based on the latest generation of the BMW M4 G82. Today, this model, along with the iconic S58 engine, is a well-known platform in the automotive world. However, four years ago, when the project began, it was completely new – a challenge that required courage, innovation, and a hefty dose of imagination.

From Concept to Reality

After initial talks with Elias and Johannes Hountondji, the founders of the Drift Brothers, the decision was made – we were in! The Red Bull Drift Brothers received two brand-new BMW M4 G82s and immediately set to work completely rebuilding them. The plans involved transforming stock M4s into true racing machines:

• Power: 1,000 HP
• Torque: Over 1,200 Nm
• Single turbo
• Sequential gearbox
• Quick-change differentials
• Widebody kits

But that wasn’t all – the timeline was very short, and the technical challenges were immense. Modifying the S58B30 drivetrain, creating new components, and adapting the G82 body required top-level collaboration. Adding to the pressure, the cars had to be ready for the inaugural round of the Drift Masters European Championship in Greinbach, Austria.

The Result?

Thanks to the dedication of the Red Bull Drift Brothers, support from BMW M, and our modest contribution, two incredible cars were born, creating a huge sensation. The drift-ready M4s not only amazed the motorsport world but also won over tuning enthusiasts and BMW fans alike. These cars became pioneers in the drifting field, proving that technology, design, and imagination can go hand in hand.

The Road to Success

As described by BMW M, this project wasn’t just a technological challenge but also a manifestation of the "M Power" philosophy. By perfectly balancing performance, precision, and innovation, the new M4 Competition transitioned from the race track to the drifting world, retaining its core characteristics: dynamism, speed, and unparalleled handling.

For the Drift Brothers, every modification was carefully thought through. Increasing the power required changes to the cooling system and turbocharger, while preparing the suspension demanded precise adjustments for drift conditions. The widebody kits not only added aggressive visual appeal but also improved aerodynamics, translating to better track performance.
